ExCom Planning meeting in December 2017.

Happy hew year. We are looking forward to a great new year in 2018.
On December 9, 2017 your ExCom held a planning meeting in Atlanta.
Each of the officers and committee chairs listed actions that he or
she plant to undertake in 2018, measures by which these actions will
be evaluated, and goals to be accomplished.  Our Secretary is
preparing the summary of the meeting for you to read.

Each ExCom Committee consists of a group of volunteers whose
collective effort is needed to achieve these goals.  The
committee chairs and offiers need help from everyone for a
successful year.

ExCom Committee appointments.

I would like to thank David Green and his committee for their great
work in recommending very qualified volunteers for the various
positions of service in the Region Committee structure.  As of now
almost all of the positions on all of the committees are filled.
There is a separate document that is linked to the agenda that lists
all of the Region officers, committee chairs, and committee members.
It also lists various representatives to other IEEE organizations 
that I have appointed (so far).

IEEE Board activities.

I have been appointed as a member of the IEEE Audit Committee.
Our first face-to-face meeting will be at the IEEE Board series in
February.  At that time I will also attend various board meetings
to participate in the governance of the IEEE.
