IEEE Board activities.

I attended the IEEE Board series in Orlando Florida in February 2018.
As Director of Rebion 3, I serve on the IEEE-USA Board, the MGA Board, 
the IEEE Audit Committee, and the IEEE Board of Directors.

IEEE Audit Committee

At the first meeting of the IEEE Audit Committee, I was elected as
Secretary of the Committee.  This committee is responsible to the
IEEE Board of Directors with respect to matters involving the accounting, 
auditing, financial reporting, risk management, regulatory and compliance, 
and internal control functions of IEEE. It reviews policies and procedures 
that substantially impact the finances and operations of IEEE, monitor 
conformance thereto, and recommend such changes as it considers desirable.

Most of our work on the Audit Committee was related to risk management.
All kinds of risks are considered by the Committee.

SoutheastCon 2018

It takes the unselfish work of many volunteers to make a successful conference.
In this case we have really three conferences in one.  I really appreciate
Jim Howard, Claude Pitts, and their group of volunteers for taking on this challenge.
Also, there are many other volunteers who participate.  Thanks go to
Sean Haynes and the members of the Conference Committee, IEEE volunteers
and staff members at the Institute level, and all of you, the Section
Chairs, Area Chairs, and the ExCom Committee members.

SoutheastCon 2018 Region Committee Program, Section Chairs or Delegates

I have asked the Chairs of all 41 Sections and the 9 Areas to be represented
at the Region 3 Committee meetings and events.  If your Section or Area Chair
has not yet registered, please do so by 3/30/2018 as "IEEE Member - Region 
3/IEEE Volunteer/IEEE Staff"  at the early registration rate of $285.00.
Also, make your hotel registration using the SoutheastCon 2018 web site.
The IEEE Region 3 Committee meeting and events will start at 8:30 on
Friday 20 April 2018 and continue until noon on Sunday 22 April 2018.

I am asking each Section and Area Chair to make short presentation
during the Region Committee Meeting on Sunday morning.  Please make one or
two Power Point slides about your planned activities and goals for 2018.
Please send your slide(s) to Secretary Battaglio before you travel 
to the meeting.

SoutheastCon 2018 Region Committee Program, Region Executive Committee Chairs

I have asked each of the Committee Chairs of the ExCom to make a presentation
about his or her respective committee.  Please supply your slides to 
Secretary Battaglio before you travel to SoutheastCon.  Your report
should include at least the following items.

(1) The members of the committee (individuals and job functions).
(2) The responsibilities that are assigned to the committee as prescribed in the 
    Region 3 Operations Manual, section V.
(3) The activities that the committee will pursue in 2018.
(4) The goals that the committee wants to accomplish in 2018.

These presentations (and a few others) will be on Friday afternoon and
Saturday morning.
