IEEE Region 3 Membership Development Committee

Objectives

Promote both professional and student membership growth in Region 3 and the Institute as a whole. Encourage all members to seek the highest membership grade for which they qualify.

Responsibilities

Conceive, develop, and implement Region 3 membership growth programs. These programs are primarily marketing tasks.

Contribute material and, if requested, present information at Region 3 Leadership Development Training workshops

In Region 3, we have a diverse base of 31,233 Members as of January 31, 2008. Our goal is to grow our Membership by another 5% during 2008. To support this growth, we have launched a Membership campaign that includes the following programs. Please let us know if we can help you or one of your associates join and become a Member of the IEEE Network.

Senior Member Initiative - This program is an Institute wide program to elevate qualified members from member to senior member level. In 2008, the goal of IEEE is to elevate 4,000 members from member to senior member. Region 3 has a goal of 315 new senior members.

Member-Get-A-Member (MGM) - Beginning 1 September 2007 and running through the 2008 IEEE dues year which ends on 15 August 2008, the IEEE will conduct the MGM Program to encourage members to recruit their colleagues to join IEEE. In return for their efforts, the recruiter will earn incentives for each member recruited which can be used toward 2008 IEEE dues, the purchase of IEEE products and services, or a donation to the IEEE foundation.
