Science Kits for Public Libraries - An IEEE - Region 4 project

Science Kits for Public Libraries - An IEEE - Region 4 project. Understanding that not all children have access to high quality Science Educations due to underfunding, resource allocations, poverty, or any other social or economic condition, the Science Kits for Public Libraries program raises capital to provide grants for public libraries to purchase science kits and offer them as a lending service for use of the community. Click here for our Science Kits for Public Libraries Website.

"The IEEE Science Kits for Public Libraries (SKPL) program exists because we believe all children should have access to high-quality, self-learning, STEM experiences – regardless of race, gender, financial condition, or home environment. Since 2009, the generosity of donors, like you, has made it possible for more than 150 public libraries throughout the Midwest to start science kit collections that are free and accessible to the public. With access to a public library and a valid library card, children can check out high-quality, hands-on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) experiences at zero cost to their parents.
