Panhandle Section Strategic Plan

Name of Section: Panhandle Section

Mission Statement: IEEE promotes the development of electro-technology and allied sciences, the application of those technologies for the benefit of humanity, the advancement of the profession, and the well being of its members.

Our mission is to exceed the expectations of our members by providing quality programs with emphasis on career, skill and technical development programs. We will communicate with the membership the available IEEE services and develop future leaders in the organization.

2002/2003 Goals

1. Statement: Provide monthly quality section meetings by inviting quality speakers who are highly regarded in their field of expertise.
Region Goal Supported: 1A
Plan: Vice-chair will coordinate monthly program section activities.
Metric: Monthly membership satisfaction survey.

2. Statement: Continue to sponsor and provide two educational seminars every year. Align one seminar's focus with a technical program
Region Goal Supported: 1D
Plan: Education chair will plan and put together spring & fall CEU seminar. Topics will include professional skill development, latest engineering technology and leadership training.
Metric: CEU credits awarded by Amarillo College w/ seminar survey

3. Statement: Develop GOLD program for membership retention and development activities.
Region Goal Supported: 2D
Plan: GOLD chair plans with ex-comm two programs every year
Metric: Meeting attendance.

4. Statement: Develop future leaders by sending volunteers to IEEE region & national conference, training & seminar opportunities.
Region Goal Supported: 2A
Plan: Recognize volunteers and sponsor them for advancement through the sections organization to positions of increasing responsibility.
Metric: Yearly evaluation survey of section leadership

5. Statement: Communicate the members the IEEE services available to membership.
Region Goal Supported: 5A
Plan: Monthly meeting announcements and create section in the website for these services.
Metric: Feedback from membership and membership retention.
