Career Day

IEEE Canada has made a PowerPoint Presentation available free of charge to initiate middle and high school students to engineering and technology with a particular interest in electrical energy, telecommunications, computers, and related sciences, and to introduce them to IEEE Canada.

High and middle schools are invited to make use of this presentation in their career day presentations on engineering, technology, and science. The material may be presented on-line by left-clicking the above link or downloaded for future use off-line use by right-clicking. This power point presentation is offered in either of our two official languages - use the left-side link for the version "en français". Please contact Elmer Bourque at the e-mail address below if you have any questions.

National Engineering Week in Canada is Feb 25 - Mar 5, 2006
The Canadian web site has information especially for young people - a "Hey, Kids!" section for those 8 to 14 years old, info on becoming an engineer, some profiles of engineers including a former IEEE president from Newfoundland & Labrador, and lots more. This site is another great resource for introducing engineering to young people.

There are also web sites for:
      Ontario
      Prince Edward Island
      Newfoundland and Labrador
      Manitoba
      Alberta

Engineering Week in the United States is Feb 19 - 25, 2006. Please view their web site.

IEEE Canada is the professional learned society for the electrical engineering and technology and associated disciplines in Canada. It is the Canadian part of the worldwide IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc.).
