CALL FOR ASSOCIATE EDITORS

The Canadian Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering (CJECE) is the flagship IEEE technical journal of the area in Canada. The CJECE (ISSN-0840-8688), issued quarterly, has been publishing high-quality refereed scientific papers in all areas of electrical and computer engineering since 1976 and is indexed in ISI and IEEE Xplore. The journal has been restructured since 2010 and the current administration is implementing aggressive plans to raise the impact factor and readership in 2013. The current acceptance rate of the journal is ~1.5% and the expected first decision turn-around time is less than 2 months.

The papers we publish are typically 3–10 pages long (in final two-column form) and focus on original research in the field of electrical and computer engineering (ECE), current electrical and computer engineering practice, or the history of electrical and computer engineering relevant to the Canadian scene. We also consider brief descriptions of new technical achievements and application articles related to novel realizations or major system implementations. Tutorial, review, and survey articles are also welcomed. A number of special issues will also be announced in the next few months.

All submitted manuscripts are reviewed by independent referees as coordinated by the Associate Editors (AE). In my capacity as the journal's EiC, I extend an invitation to researchers in all areas of ECE to submit an application for an AE position. Each AE is appointed on a 6-month probationary term to be extended to a 2-year term. AEs will receive a small number of papers each year in their general areas of expertise. Successful volunteer candidates will be required to secure a minimum of 3 independent reviews for each paper in 4 weeks.

Interested researchers are invited to send their intents along with an up-to-date CV using the form below or via LinkedIn. The CV is not required if the LinkedIn account contains the relevant information and the track record in research and publications.
