Graduates of Last Decade (GOLD) is the group of IEEE members that have completed their first academic degree within the last 10 years.

The GOLD program has been established to provide the framework and tools for the sections’ use in retaining recent graduates.

The Region 8 GOLD committee’s job is to create awareness of and to promote GOLD programs in the Region for the identification and development of IEEE volunteer leaders and members. The committee acts as an active promoter, resource, and liaison for sections and branches to generate and support GOLD activities.

STEP Program

IEEE Student Transition & Elevation Partnership (STEP) was developed to provide a standardized yet localized program for facilitating the transition from student member to young professional, by introducing the opportunities and benefits of IEEE membership during the onset of a career.

    • Humanitarian workshops Program

    IEEE GOLD Affinity Groups have organized a series of humanitarian workshops around the world. These events are designed to raise awareness of how technology can make a positive impact on the world in which we live.  These workshops provide engineers with greater access to such projects by bringing invited speakers who are currently playing leading roles in applying technology to humanitarian causes.

    GOLD offers webinars for members on topics related to professional development, humanitarian efforts, and technical knowledge. GOLD webinars are scheduled monthly and are recorded for on-demand viewing.

    • Financial report (L50) - In case your money is not managed by your section.

    Your section will only get rebates if you report at least 2 meetings per year on time, so please make sure to do so!
