The goal of IEEE R8 Educational Activities Subcommittee is to provide learning opportunities within the engineering sciences, research and broadly, technology. The objectives of the IEEE R8 education programs is to ensure the growth of skill and knowledge among the technical profession and to foster individual commitment to continuing education among IEEE members, the engineering and scientific community, and the general public.

The aim for R8 EASC in 2010 is to motivate more section chairs and engage more Chapter Chairs/Student Branches on IEEE EAB existing programs and establish networks and explore contacts to keep the image of IEEE as a high quality professional society.

Our actions program is mainly based on the following two objectives:

Pre-University education – To inform the Sections on available IEEE EAB programs and support those wanted to implement them.

Continuing education – Increase the number of Sections/Chapters using eLibrary and Technical English Programs. Continue to participate on ICED initiative.

More detailed information on our planned actions with web links for further details and the sub-committee members in charge is presented below.
