Free Software Universities Contest (in Spain Section)

In the Spain Section, IEEE has been involved in the Free Software Universities Contest (CUSL).

The CUSL is a software development, hardware and technical documentation book in which students can participate in the first and second cycle of any university in Spain. The current development period covers the academic year 2008-2009.

The CUSL is an activity promoted by different entities related to the University. At present, this initiative is coordinated by the University of Seville, with the support and participation of the University of Cadiz and the Center of Excellence for Software Libre de Castilla-La Mancha.

The past two editions, 2006/2007 and 2007/2008, 94 and 95 projects participated and a total of 6,000 and 15,000 euros in prize money respectively was given. Past editions of CUSL could not have been possible without the help of the Junta de Andalucía, the Junta de Extremadura, CENATIC and Fidetia.

The main objective of CUSL is to promote and contribute to the consolidation of the free software community at the University.
