TECHNICAL CHAPTERS
Like a
IEEE Student Branch is a representation of a Higher Education
Institution, a Technical Chapter is a representation of a Technical
Society in that institution. Still, like the registration on a company
is part of its technical IEEE membership, the Chapter is part of the
Student Branch, preserving the same hierarchy.
AFFINITY GROUPS
People
who form a group have similar interests, so this is an Affinity Group
of IEEE. The Women In Engineering Affinity (www.ieee.org/go/wiearea1)
Group is composed of men and women together to encourage future
engineers in their profession, in their professional training and focus
on opportunities and programs.
CREATE YOUR BRANCH
For create a Chapter or Affinity Group is necessary:
1. Gather stakeholders;
2. Elect an interim organizer / advisor for the GA (Affinity Group), the Director need not necessarily be the same branch of the Student;
3. Send the petition for the Coordinatorof the Region 9 of WIE / Student Services (in the case of group affinities WIE) and the Manager of the IEEE Student Activities / Student Services (in the case of a Chapter).
