IIIT-B had hosted a 2-week long Summer School on ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition) being organized by Microsoft Research India during (July 16-28, 2007). 40 researchers from across the country have participated in this Summer School conducted by three renowned researchers Dr. Bhiksha Raj (Mitsubishi Electrical Research Lab [MERL],Boston and founder of Haikya Corp), Dr. Rita Singh (adjunct Professor at Carnegie Mellon University and CEO of Haikya Corp) and Dr. Mosur Ravishankar ( Carnegie Mellon University) and coordinated by Dr Amitav Das from MSRI and Dr Jyotsna Bapat from IIIT-B.
