COMPSOC

The Computer Society is a conglomeration of students with a passion for Computer Science and Information Technology. This SIG is a wonderful platform for those who want to gain expertise in computer based technology.

In true divide-and-conquer spirit, the SIG is subcategorized many groups like High Performance Computing,Security and Systems Programming,Databases, Data Structures and Algorithms,Web / Mobile Application Development,Networks and Communication,Computer Graphics, Vision and Virtual Reality,Data, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence

CAS

The Circuits and Systems (CAS) group, also known as Diode consists of a team of students with a strong interest in the field of Electronics and Electrical Science. There are various seminars and talks organised by this SIG to encourage students to learn and gain more knowledge in their particular field of interest. CAS has contributed greatly to the development of interest in the field of robotics and microcontrollers.

The main focus of the CAS is on small projects, a cross-year collaborative effort among all the members that will help in academics and give us an edge when participating in various technical competitions conducted in many prestigious institutes.

PISTON

Piston is a special interest group dedicated to the engineering applications of Mechanical, Automation, Civil, Chemical and Material Sciences. The SIG functions as a platform for students interested in learning and advancing specific areas of knowledge and technology. The SIG members co-operate, communicate, and organise meets, talks and conferences to discuss latest technology advancement and application.

The SIG consists of 2 societies namely Mach (Mechanical, Automation and Chemical Engineering) and RAS (Robotics and Automation). We specialise on a lot of areas like Aerospace Engineering Automobile engineering, Bio-Mechanical Applications, Chemical and Thermal Engineering, Heat and Renewable Energy Engineering, Robotics, Controls and Mechatronics and Structures and Materials.

WIE

The IEEE NITK WIE is a professional organisation dedicated to promoting technical interests among women engineers and scientists. It was launched on February 18th 2009 by Prof Marimuthu, the R10 WIE Coordinator. Our mission is to inspire, engage, encourage, and empower IEEE women student members and facilitate the recruitment and retention of women in technical disciplines globally.
