About IEEE WIE

WIE is dedicated to important issues for Women Engineers:
>> RECOGNIZES women’s outstanding achievements in electrical and electronics
engineering through IEEE Awards nominations
>> ORGANIZES receptions at major technical conferences to enhance networking and to promote membership in WIE
>>PROMOTES IEEE Member Grade advancement for women to the grades of Senior Member and Fellow
>>ADVOCATES women in leadership roles in IEEE governance
>>PROVIDES assistance with the formation of new WIE Affinity Groups and
supports ongoing activities
>>ADMINISTERS the IEEE Student-Teacher and Research Engineer/Scientist (STAR) Program to mentor young women in junior and high schools.

About WIE SIT

IEEE SIT boasts to be the fir-
st in the Bangalore region to
start a society of this kind.
The motive of such a society
would be to help the women
engineers bridging the gender
divide.

IEEE SIT is expecting a good
number members for its WIE
program. As female members
make a hige chunk of IEEE SIT,WIE in SIT would prove a huge success.

One of the Initial programs planned for WIE in SIT is going to rural schools and making the students aware about computers. More plans are under discussion and would be implemented in the coming semester.
