The IEEE BUET Student Branch website was developed previously several times. In past, most versions were done in HTML format. The last stable version of the site was implemented by Sarwar Erfan, a student of CSE of BUET. The site he developed was written by PHP and SQL Queries. His developed site won second runners up prize in the R10 Student Branch Website Design Contest.

As his site was not based on any CMS, it was becoming increasingly difficult to manage and update the site. The site was reimplemened using a CMS the Joomla CMS by  Sajid Muhaimin Choudhury. Presently Ifat Jahangir is acting as site web master.
