Introduction of Xi'an Jiaotong University
Xi'an Jiaotong University is a leading university directly administered by the Ministry of Education of China. It is one of the earliest universities founded in China. It grew out of Nan Yang College, which was founded in Shanghai in 1896. Now, Xi’an Jiaotong University has developed into a comprehensive university of natural science, engineering, medicine, economics, management, liberal arts and law, with science and engineering as its main focus. The university has 14 schools, 2 departments, and Institute of Vocational, Technical & Continuous Education, and 3 clinic teaching hospitals. So far, it has a staff of 6,592, and a full-time student population of about 32,774, including 3,597 Ph.D. students and 8,377 graduate students.
