Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers deals with the development of students in the technical field which includes advanced theory and application of electrotechnology and allied sciences, serving as a catalyst for technological innovation and supporting the needs of its members through a wide variety of programs and services.

The vast development in the electrical science problems in the existing originations such as AIEE and IRE has encouraged the members of AIEE & IRE to merge and form IEEE in 1963. The first director of IEEE was Robert Friedel.

The first event included a project on Faraday, Maxwell and Edison and the electric light. Since then IEEE has been an active organizer of events in the field of technical sciences,which includes events like Hardware, paper presentation, seminar, talks on new inventions, workshops. IEEE has also been promoting technical awareness all over the world through its programs.
