IEEE History

The mission of the IEEE History Center is to preserve, research and promote the history of information and electrical technologies. The Center maintains many useful resources for the engineer, for the historian of technology, and for anyone interested in the development of electrical and computer engineering and their role in modern society.

The vast development in the electrical science problems in the existing origination such as AIEE and IRE has encouraged the members of AIEE & IRE to merge and to form IEEE in 1963 . The first director of IEEE was Robert Friedel.

The first event included project by Faraday by Maxwell and by Edison on the electric light. Since then IEEE has been an active organizer in the field of technical sciences ,which includes the events on hardware, paper presentations, seminars, talks on new inventions and workshops. IEEE has been promoting technical awareness all over the world through its programs.
