Dear Reader,

PRATIBIMB is the true soul of BVPIEEE, the ‘reflection of the branch’s perfection’. It symbolizes the spirit of this dynamic and vibrant student branch, vividly portraying the silhouettes of BVPIEEE. Each year a new team takes up the colossal task of designing this golden journal with the chronicles of the year gone by, so as to capture the events and preserve them for eternity in these pages.

We consider ourselves fortunate to be a part of this grand ensemble and have strived to include all the proceedings and accomplishments of the branch in these pages. It’s been an immensely fulfilling journey and this task has enriched each member of the editorial team, augmenting their creativity and utilising their innovative skills to bring this journal to life.  

While on the subject of the magazine, we note with concern the relative lack of interest in technical and science writing amongst the students. Contributions for these sections have largely been made by the section editors personally. We are delighted, though, to note the increased interest in literary writing, which saw that section receive the largest number of submissions.

The new logo of the magazine, when observed carefully, is an ambigram, i.e. it reads the same when inverted. The magazine is not just about the expression of thought in writing, but designing too, for which the talent in BVCOE is aplenty. In addition to the regulars, we present the FERVOUR 2011 Special Section, in an attempt to compress into a few articles and photographs the innumerable memories we harvested from the two-day fiesta.

We express our sincere gratitude towards our Principal, Dr. K.C. Tiwari, our Branch Counselor, Prof. Rahul Bahl and the Editorial Mentor, Prof. Yogita Arora for their unflinching support, constant encouragement and munificent guidance. In addition, we would like to thank the members of the BVPIEEE Webteam who helped make this publication possible. A lot of discussion, brainstorming and sleepless nights later, the magazine has turned out  as we had envisioned . A venture of this kind could never have been undertaken without the efforts of our skilled website designers; it is their relentless toil that has made this e-journal a reality.

To all the readers, we hope you enjoy reading the magazine as much as we did creating it!
