PNEC team shines at SOFTEC 2007 A three-member team comprising of Syed Anas Imtiaz, Munzir Zafar and Atif Shabir won the prize in the Microcontroller Interfacing Competition at SOFTEC 2007 held at FAST (NUCES), Lahore. The competition required programming and interfacing on-the-spot. The students showed great ability and completed the task within the given time which no other team in the competition managed to complete. The competition included 24 teams from all prestigious engineering institutes in Pakistan. SOFTEC is considered as the largest IT and engineering event organized
every year in Pakistan at FAST, Lahore, Launch of new IEEE-PNEC website on 18th April 2007 The website of IEEE-PNEC chapter has been completely redressed and
launched on 18th April with a host of new features and links. The website
is the result of the efforts put in by the web development team under the
Internet Director (Syed Ammar Shah). It features many new links including
careers, memberships and a blog. All faculty members and many students
were sent an invitation to sign up for the online blog. Industrial Visit on 6th April 2007 An industrial visit to Siddiq Sons Denim was organized by Mr. Najeeb Iqbal (a faculty member) for all the students of Semester-VI EE and EL. All IEEE-PNEC members of Semester-VI along with all other students of the semester participated in this visit to the factory located at Hub. The visit gave an opportunity to the students to have a close look at different processes and machinery at the factory. Mr. Naeem Janjua and Mr. Najeeb Iqbal accompanied the students on the tour. IEEE-PNEC would like to thank Mr. Najeeb Iqbal for his efforts in arranging this informative industrial tour.
A 4-member team from PNEC named Wrecking Crew won the E-Zenith
competition at the National Engineering and Technology Competition
(NETCOM) 2007 held at NUCES-FAST Karachi. The event was organized by the
IEEE chapter of NUCES Karachi. The team named Wrecking Crew includes the
following members of IEEE-PNEC: All IEEE-PNEC members congratulate the 'Wrecking Crew'.
