Projects

IEEE-PNEC members are involved in numerous projects ranging from their final year work, semester projects, competitions to hobby projects. These projects reflect the level of engineering being taught at PNEC and are a perfect way for the members to display their engineering prowess. IEEE-PNEC encourages students to take up different projects during their engineering study. Projects may be simple and small in magnitude, but they are the best way of learning and practicing.

The following projects are currently being undertaken by the IEEE-PNEC members at different levels. [Members from all semesters are requested to submit a descriptive e-mail regarding their projects at ieee.pnec@gmail.com for the project to be listed here].

* Design and fabrication of RFID based inventory control system.

* Real-time object tracking using pan/tilt camera.

* Design and fabrication of RF controlled hovercraft for mine detection with onboard GPS.

* Implementation of SCADA based temperature control system for power transformer.

* Design and fabrication of magnetic ball levitation system.

* Design and fabrication of H-coupled microstrip bandpass filter for S-band transmitter.

* Design and development of automated strapping machine using PLC components.

* Design and fabrication of automatic load tap changer.

* Design and implementation of automatic meter reading using GPRS modem.

* Development of metal sheet bending machine using PLC Simatic 7-300.

* Design and implementation of electronic valve lift and timing control for engines.

Project announcements, progress reports, abstracts and other details about these projects will be posted very soon!
