Visas
ASEAN nationals do not need visas for visits of less than one month. Citizens of other Asian countries such as China, India and Pakistan may require visas for entry into Malaysia. For the full list of countries that require visas, visit:

Immigration requirements
Visitors are not allowed to bring more than RM1000 in and also out of the country. Also, the value of foreign currency and travellers’ cheques brought into Malaysia must not exceed RM10, 000.

By Air

Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)

Transit : Asian city>KLIA-Senai Airport>Hotel

KLIA is connected to most major international airports in the World, with daily flights by Malaysia Airlines and other airline companies.

From KLIA take a connecting Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight to the Sultan Ismail Airport in Senai, Johore Bahru. It takes about 45 minutes and an economy class ticket costs around RM155. For bookings within Malaysia, call MAS at 1-300-88-3000.

Changi International Airport (CHANGI)

Transit : Asian city>CHANGI>Larkin Bus Terminal>Hotel

Another option is to fly to the Changi International Airport (http://www.changiairport.com.sg) in Singapore. Johor Bahru is linked to Singapore by the Singapore-Johor Causeway. Once you get to Singapore, you can easily reach Johor Bahru by taxi or by bus using the Singapore-Johor Express and the SBS-170 bus to the Larkin Bus Terminal.

By Train
Route : Bangkok>Butterworth>Kuala Lumpur>Johore Bahru>Hotel

Train services are available from Bangkok, Thailand to Butterworth in the northen region of the Malaysian Peninsular. At the Butterworth railway station, you will have to go through customs inspections and switch trains to get to the Kuala Lumpur railway station. From there take another train to Johore Bahru.

By Bus or Taxi
Johor Bahru has a vast and modernized land transportation system that connects it with the rest of the Peninsular of Malaysia. Besides flying and taking a train from Kuala Lumpur, you can also take a bus or a taxi.

By Bus – daily busses are available to Johor Bahru from the Jalan Duta bus terminal in Kuala Lumpur. From KLIA or the KL Railway Station, take the KLIA Express or a train to KL Sentral, and from there take a bus or taxi to Jalan Duta Bus Terminal. A bus ride from Jalan Duta to the Larkin bus terminal in Johor Bahru will take approximately 5 hours and costs around RM25(USD6.54).

By Taxi
– approach the KLIA taxi counters or taxi companies for a taxi to Johor Bahru. Although convenient, this option is very costly.
