First, we started off with an orientation. A tour guide explained how SLAC works and why SLAC exists. We are one of the last tours they will be hosting due to budget cut. Stanford oversees the operations of the accelerator but it is open for outside experiments. The Linear Accelerator is the longest linear accelerator in the world. Then we got on a bus to the Linear Accelerator Center. We saw the accelerator gallery. Lastly, we stopped by the visitor center and conversed on what we saw. The visitor center is very informative and has exhibits of the parts use in the linear accelerator.
