The Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is based in Brisbane and has in excess of 40,000 students. The IEEE Student Branch has been reformed as of 2008 and will be undertaking several activities.

IEEE Student Branch Function
A branch function will be taking place on the 19th September from 12:30 to 2pm in GP S405A. You are invited to an IEEE QUT Student Branch function. Come along and hear about special student membership offers, the IEEE Queensland Section undergraduate thesis prize and how to become involved in the QUT Student Branch.
Michael Ventnor will be giving a talk on his experiences developing open source software with the Mozilla foundation. Mozilla are best known for the Firefox web browser. Michael is a student and started out contributing in his spare time. He went on to complete an internship at the Auckland Mozilla office.
We are keen for new people to get involved in the Branch and are looking for your input on what the Branch can do for QUT students in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology.
