UCT SAIEE Student Chapter

The SAIEE student branch at the University of Cape Town, which is the only SAIEE student Chapter in South Africa, was formally established at the end of 2009.The process was initiated and carried forward by the UCT IEEE ,the largest student Chapter in South Africa, during the course of 2008. Hence both student chapters are run in conjunction with each other at UCT. The SAIEE Western Cape branch has always been actively involved amongst students and their enthusiasm has allowed SAIEE to extend onto a tertiary level at UCT.

The primary goal of the Chapter is to accommodate SAIEE members on a tertiary level and create awareness amongst students of what the Institute represents. There is a very evident gap between electrical engineering students and Industry, hopefully this Chapter can act as a medium between students and senior members of the electrical engineering fraternity.
