About the University of Manchester IEEE Student Branch
The student branch officially started in May 2003 as UMIST IEEE Student Branch. Since UMIST and Victoria University of Manchester formed The University of Manchester in October 2004, the Student Branch renamed as "The University of Manchester IEEE Student Branch".
The University of Manchester IEEE Student Branch has been very active in organising events for the benefit of students including inviting speakers on technical or professional subjects, organizing field trips to Industry, entering design competitions, etc.
The administrative committee of the student branch has been divided into three sub-committees: Program Committee, Membership Committee and Publicity Committee. Program committee is responsible for planning and running the Branch’s program of activities. Membership committee is responsible for planning and carrying out Branch recruitment efforts, including promoting membership benefits to new and existing members. Publicity committee is responsible for advertising all Branch activities.

Title
Event Coordinator
Description
This position belongs to Program Committee. The successful candidates need to coordinate the events and activities, which are held by student branch. Duties include contacting invited guests, establishing event flyers and venue arrangement.
Skills Required
- Excellent inter-communication and time management abilities
- Good team work skills
- Good written English
- Previous experience on organizing events is prefer but not essential

Membership Coordinator
Description
This position belongs to Membership Committee. The successful candidates need to promote the benefits of IEEE student membership to any new students, encourage the existing student members to renew their memberships and help branch chair to manage current student membership data.
