I am a second year PhD student in the Networks Research Group in the Department of Electronic Engineering at Queen Mary, University of London. I am currently on an EPSRC project on very large scale Complex Network traffic and topology analysis. More precisely, it is the combination of complex network topology (regular, random, and scale-free) with their properties and the network traffic properties (consider routing, QoS etc).

While it sounds like something too technical, it also exists beyond computer networks. For example, your own brain is a complex network of nerve cells with slight amounts of electricity going through them as the data in your brain network. A traffic congestion or malfunction of cells in your brain may lead to a collapse of part of your brain or you. More real world examples could be found in traffic systems, nature systems, etc.
