From September 2006, Samuel is a PhD research student at the Computer Science department of Queen Mary, University of London. He is working on video-assisted speech enhancement.
Previously, he received a MSc degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL), Lausanne, Switzerland in April 2006. In 2005, he visited for 6 months to the Multimedia and Vision group at the Queen Mary, University of London, working as a guest research student in the area of clustering and behaviours analysis.
For external activities, Samuel was member of the local organising team for the 31st International AES conference 2007 in Queen Mary, University of London. In Switzerland he was member of both the Faculty Council of the School of Engineering and of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering student association in EPFL. He also took responsibilities in is external activities being president of a club of floorball, communal councilor, conscript fire-fighter and conscript First lieutenant of the Swiss Army.
