Dear Valued Visitor:
I’m writing to all of you to announce some very exciting news. The University of Windsor IEEE Student Branch will be receiving an award to be given out during the IEEE SEM Spring 2004 Section Conference. The conference will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM and the title of the award is “2003 Outstanding Student Branch Award in IEEE SEM”. It has taken a lot of hard work and dedication from a great many individuals in order to establish a chapter of IEEE here at the University worthy of such an award.
I would like to start off by thanking the University of Windsor Department of Engineering for giving us the opportunity to reactivate our Student Branch. After seeing the support made available to us, I am positive that the University of Windsor IEEE Student Branch will remain very active and productive for years to come. Without the support of Dean Reader, Associate Dean Alexander, Dr. Erfani, Dr. Biswas, Dr. Lahdhiri, Ms. Shelby Marchand, Mr. Don Tersigni, and Mr. Frank Cicchello we would not be able to make it so far. Our counselor Dr. Tarek Lahdhiri made time to meet with our executive branch and ensured that the S-PAC went flawless. Having him as a part of our team has truly been rewarding and we know that we always have his support on all the projects we conduct.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Executive Branch of IEEE SEM. Dr. Barada has gone above and beyond his call of duty to communicate with us and ensure that everything in our branch is performing smoothly. I would also like to thank Dr. Snyder, Dr. Marzougui, Dr. Hassan, Dr. Basu, Dr. Bramlett and the rest of IEEE SEM for their countless support and help.
It is truly my honor and pleasure to have worked with these wonderful people. I would like to thank you all on behalf of myself and the University of Windsor IEEE Student Branch for helping us achieve our goals and attaining this prestigious award. I would like to invite the members of the University of Windsor IEEE Student Branch as well as faculty, staff and friends at the University of Windsor to join our student members in accepting this award at the SEM Spring 2004 Section Conference to be held in Michigan. Please email me back as soon as you can if you are available to join us.
Thank you everyone for your support. I look forward to working with all of you and I hope we can continue to achieve excellence in the future.
Sincerely,
Kinza Irfan
