You can join IEEE now and get 3 months of membership for free! If you JOIN between now and December, you will have the same benefits as those who sign up in January 2007. It only costs you: Canada (incl. GST) CAD$31.80 (includes IEEE Potentials subscription).
The IEEE Student Branch at the University of Windsor does not require our student members to hold Official IEEE memberships. However, you should be aware that all of your executive members do hold this membership and have access to the great benefits that the new IEEE.org has to offer. Including the all new IEEE.tv.
IEEE is the worlds largest community of Electrical Engineers (of all disciplines). Join today and find out what you have been missing, or at least check it out here.
At the local level check out the South Eastern Michigan Section of IEEE here. What
is the IEEE?
The IEEE is a non-profit,
technical professional association with more than 377,000 members in 150 countries.
The full name is the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc.,
and is commonly referred to by the letters I-E-E-E. Through its members, the
IEEE is a leading authority in technical areas ranging from computer engineering,
biomedical technology and telecommunications, to electric power, aerospace and
consumer electronics, among others. Through its technical publishing, conferences
and consensus-based activities, the IEEE produces 30 percent of the world's
published literature in electrical engineering, computers and control technology,
holds annually more than 300 major conferences and has nearly 900 active standards
with 700 under development. To find out more visit http://www.ieee.org/.
What Do We Offer?
The University of Windsor IEEE Student Branch provides U of W Electrical Engineers
the opportunity to join the IEEE at significantly discounted student membership
rates. Membership gives you access to professional and technical resources online,
career & employment resources, connections with national societies outside
of the IEEE as well as many other benefits. Also, with your subscription you
receive the IEEE Spectrum magazine as well as Potentials, the magazine for up
and coming Engineers. Our purpose is to promote the knowledge of the theory
and practice of electrical, computer and allied branches of engineering as well
as to further professional development. We hope to accomplish this by hosting
technical seminars and presentations, establishing contacts with industry through
facility tours, covering breakthrough technology and sponsoring both academic
and social events. In the future we also hope to provide facilities and funding
for projects and competitions such as Battlebots.
How
Can I Join?
