CPMT-A Transactions Best Papers
The AE's and the 1998 Guest Editors for CPMT-A, nominated 8 papers
for the Best Paper award. Based on their votes, I am pleased to
inform you that "A Generic Methodology for Deriving Compact
Dynamic Thermal Models, Applied to the PSGA Package," by
Filip Christiaens, BartVandevelde, Eric Beyne, Robert Mertens,
and Jan Berghmans, was selected as the Best Paper for 1998.
The paper appeared in the December 1998 issue (Vol21, No. 4) of
CPMT-A Transactions on pp 565-576. Dr. Filip Christiaens is at
Alcatel Telecom in Antwerp, Belgium, where he is employed as a
Physical Design Project Leader in the Hardware Competence Center
of the Switching Systems Division. Drs. Vandevelde, Beyne, and
Mertens are at the Materials and Packaging Division of IMEC, in
Leuven, Belgium, and Prof. Berhgmans is with the Department of
Mechanical Engineering at Catholic University in Leuven, Belgium.
In addition, it has been decided to award an "Outstanding
Paper" award to "Thermal Parameters Measurement Method
of Electronics Materials," by Zbigniew Suszynski, Miroslaw
Malinski, and Leszek Bychto, which appeared in the September 1998
issue (Vol 21, No 3) of CPMT-A Transactions, on pp 424-433. All
three authors are at the Institute of Electronics, Technical University
of Koszalin, Koszalin, Poland.
These awards were presented at the June ECTC Conference held in
San Diego June 1 4..
