National Academy of Engineering Honors One of Our Own…
C. P. WONG

Professor C.P. Wong of Georgia Tech has been selected for membership in the National Academy of Engineering (NAE), one of the highest professional distinctions accorded an engineer. Dr. Wong is a Regents’ Professor in the School of Materials Science and Engineering and a Research Director of the Packaging Research Center, is being recognized for his "contributions to materials development leading to plastic packaging of electronics."

"Election into the National Academy of Engineering represents the acknowledgement by your peers of extraordinary achievements and contributions to the engineering field," said NAE President Wm. A. Wulf. Members are elected by their peers and drawn from all engineering disciplines, including leading engineers from industry, academia, government and other institutions.

The organization has 2,027 U.S. members and 157 foreign associates. Approximately one engineer in 1,000 is inducted into the NAE, according to Wulf.

(Editor. We do not keep accurate statistics in this area, but we believe that 3 CPMT members have been elected to the NAE over the years)
