WEST UKRAINE CHAPTER WINS CPMT SOCIETY
CHAPTER OF THE YEAR AWARD
The CPMT Society West Ukraine Chapter in Lviv, Ukraine won the 1999 CPMT Society Chapter of the Year Award. The chapter was recognized at the Awards Luncheon at the 2000 Electronics Components and Technology Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada USA on Tuesday, 23 May 2000. Professor Lubou Zakalyk from the West Ukraine Chapter accepted the award.
Dr. Mykhaylo I. Andriychuk was the West Ukraine Chapter Chair during 1999. The West Ukraine chapter was organized in 1995 as a MTT/ED/AP Joint Chapter. The CPMT Society was included in 1997 and the SSC Society was added in 1999. During 1999 the Chapter had over 31 IEEE members.
The Chapter was excellent in providing both technical and educational services to its members. Under Dr. Andriychuk’s leadership, the Chapter organized 14 technical meetings and three educational meetings. Two of the Chapter members were nominated for IEEE Senior membership. The Chapter also organized a workshop and a conference during 1999.
