System Safety & Reliability Analysis: Methods to Identify Risk and Control Hazards in Complex Systems

June 18 - 28, 2001

University of Washington campus in Seattle

The College of Engineering at the University of Washington is pleased to
announce the offering of the annual System Safety and Reliability Analysis:
Methods to Identify Risk and Control Hazards in Complex Systems continuing
education program on June 18 - 28, 2001. The course is held on the
University of Washington campus in Seattle. Engineers who work with safety
engineering, risk analysis, testing, reliability and quality control will
have the opportunity to learn state-of-the-art analytical methods to
assess, evaluate and improve the safety and reliability characteristics of
complex systems from two acclaimed experts. David Haasl, Systems
Engineering and Management Consultant, and Dr. Kailash (Kal) C. Kapur,
Professor of Industrial Engineering at the College of Engineering, are the
instructors.

System Safety and Reliability Analysis presents a comprehensive, detailed
study of how to analyze and assess complex systems to improve reliability.
Originally developed and applied in the nuclear and aerospace industries,
the material and information presented in this course are increasingly
relevant to a variety of products and manufacturing environments. In this
unique program, engineers have an opportunity to understand and apply
quantitative tools to their applications. Theory combined with real-world
strategies offer invaluable insights.

Registration includes detailed reference materials developed for the
program by the instructors, a Fault Tree Template, refreshment breaks and a
certificate of completion from the University of Washington granting 5.5
CEUs (Continuing Education Units).
