CPMT Award Luncheon
Your society hosted the Thursday (June 3) luncheon at this
year's eCTC. Competing with the munching sounds of 1000 engineers,
President Phil Garrou stressed that members should not leave either
their careers or their Society to chance. Attending ECTC is a
positive step in career investment. CPMT is also forging a
future by taking three recent steps:
1. Our globalization is now well established with the Board of
Governors being represented closely with our world wide member
education.
2. We have vastly expanded and updated our Internet presence so
it is easier for our members to navigate and reap benefits.
3. We have formed a partnership with NEMI to form synergy in our
efforts of tackling the problems facing industry.
Next W. Cleon Andersen, the 2004 IEEE President-Elect, then presented the IEEE Components, Packaging and Manufacturing Techology Field Award won by John W (Jack) Balde in June 2003. Prof. Leonard Schaper and Jack's daughter were there to accept this award (see article elsewhere in this newsletter). Picture of Cleon Andersen giving Len Schaper the Award
The annual CPMT awards were also presented at the luncheon:
