IEEE-CPMT Hong Kong Chapter Activities Report

(December 2004, January and February 2005)


Election of Chapter Vice-Chair and Chair-elected, and form Executive committee

a. According to the Chapter Bylaws, the Chapter Vice-Chair and Chair-elected, Ming LI, serves as the Chapter Chair for the term from 1st Jan., 2005, to 31st Dec., 2006.

b. During the AGM 2004, Siu Wing OR was elected as the Chapter Vice-Chair and Chair-elected for the term from 1st Jan., 2005 to 31st Dec., 2006.

c. According to the Chapter Bylaws, Run Fu and Wai Ming Cheung were appointed by the new Chapter Chair as the Chapter Treasurer and Chapter Secretary respectively, for the term from 1st Jan., 2005 to 31st Dec. 2006.

Plan for year 2005

a. The Chapter will continue to organize short courses and workshops. Topics will include packaging technologies and trends in electronic packaging global market. One workshop has been arranged for the coming March/April.

b. The Chapter will carry on the membership elevation program. The Chapter will encourage those Associate Members to upgrade their membership to Member Grade. Further, the Chapter will continue to promote Senior Member and endorse senior members to IEEE Fellow.

c. The Chapter will report the technology development in Mainland China and develop relationship with the CPMT Chapter in Mainland China.
