Dear Newsletters Editors:

The attached memo by the Chair of the IEEE Ethics & Member Conduct Committee passed to me via Dr. Saifur Rahman, Chair of the TAB Periodicals Committee, requests your awareness of keeping your Society Newsletter fully impartial during your Society's electioneering campaign. It is of utmost importance that in case you use your Society's publication to introduce somone who seeks an IEEE/Society office, you need to offer EXACTLY the same exposure to EACH of the candidates before the elections.

I hope you will be able to accomplish this fine balance, and help us keeping the IEEE on the top of the list of best professional organizations run by volunteers.

Regards,
Jacek

Note added by CPMT Newsletter editor: We publish in the electronics issue any member-pertinent electioneering that is sent to the Newsletter. The paper version is limited in pages so we typically do not carry the information on the high level IEEE candidates since this information is readily available to our members in other ways. Usually the only office that gets paper coverage is that for the head of Division I to which CPMT Society belongs. Most candidates running for this position do not send information to this Newsletter, but those that do end up with some coverage.
