Position Description - VP Member Services
General Summary: The Vice President for Member Services is responsible for activities and committees related to services the Society provides to its membership. This includes awards, chapter support, surveys and the Distinguished Lecturer program.
Travel Commitment:
- EMCS Board meetings (3-4 per year)
- IEEE meetings related to member services
Essential Responsibilities:
- promoting EMC Society membership
- helping to start and maintain individual EMC Society chapters
- coordinating activities between the Board of Directors and the Chapters
- maintaining the EMC Society membership booth and staffing it at appropriate symposia
- hosting the Chapter Chairperson's Luncheon (or Breakfast) at the annual international symposium
- arranging for and promoting appropriate awards for individuals within the Society
- maintaining the Constitution and Bylaws
- encouraging IEEE Fellow nominations
- coordinating IEEE Fellow evaluations by the EMC Society
- organizing the nomination of the Board of Directors on an annual basis
- coordinating with the student membership,
- coordinating membership surveys,
- coordinating the chapter angel program, and
- running the Distinguished Lecturer program.
