Requirements
Bose Corporation is seeking a talented EMC/RF Design Engineer to work in our Design Compliance Engineering group. You'll be a part of a dynamic team that provides electrical design, test, and analysis services in the Electro-Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) area to various product development groups such as home entertainment, professional, FAA, military, automotive, and research. You'll work in an accredited laboratory where you'll be using state of the art radio frequency (RF) measurement equipment to do your testing. In this role, you'll ensure product compliance with customer and Bose specifications including applicable industry and regulatory EMC standards across the Bose business divisions.
Additionally, you'll carry out the following responsibilities:
- Work with design engineers to understand EMC product specific validation requirements.
- Provide technical EMC/RF guidance to product designs including consultation of "preferred practices" to engineers.
- Assist Validation Engineers creating the EMC section of product specific validation plans.
- Conduct, monitor, and/or participate in daily product testing and troubleshooting root cause analysis of failures observed during development and testing.
- Coordinate EMC compliance testing and reports.
- Design and develop improvements of processes, procedures, and EMC design standards.
- Devise new validation methods where needed and develop written procedures.
Skills
- 15+ years of analog & EMC/RF experience in design and development.
- Solid background in EMC testing, analysis and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of industry and regulatory EMC standards.
- Excellent math skills and problem solving abilities.
- Must be able to collaborate with others across the organization.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel and Word applications is essential.
- Experience with consumer electronics is highly desirable.
- Additional experience with modeling software, DSP or Acoustics a plus.
Education
- BSEE required; advanced degree is desirable with a focus on analog circuit design.
