Introduction and Execution Manual

Objective To introduce large scale manufacturing systems design.

1. Flow Line Assembly : System design for large volume standard productions such as cars, televisions, radios, etc.

2. Just in time and flexible manufacturing systems(JIT & FMS) : Design for moderate volume but high variety products such as consumer electronics.

3. Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems(AS/RS) : Design of a automated warehouse system facilitated by conveyor, elevators and barcode readers.

4. Material Handling systems : Design of automated quickest vehicle track.

   Note 1 (IEEE CD users):

   • Click on the icons to view the videos of the simulations.
   • Copy the source files from the table of contents if you have SIMAN IV to run the simulations.

   Note 2 (NJIT users):

   • Click on the icons to run the simulations.
   • Go through the table of contents if running the simulations without Netscape facilities.
