Hewlett-Packard/Harriett B. Rigas Award
Description: To recognize outstanding faculty women who have made significant contributions to electrical/computer engineering education.
Prize: An honorarium, plaque, certificate, registration fees for the Frontiers in Education (FIE) Conference the year the award is received, and expenses for the recipient to attend the FIE conference to receive the award.
Funding: Funded directly to the recipient by the Hewlett-Packard Company.
Eligibility: Tenured or tenure track woman faculty member in an ABET-accredited engineering program in the United States, with teaching and/or research specialization in electrical/computer engineering. Must attend the award presentation at FIE.
Basis for Judging: Excellence in undergraduate and/or graduate teaching, commitment to electrical/computer engineering education, and active participation in encouraging and supporting increased participation of women in electrical/computer engineering. Other factors may include demonstrated scholarship/research, evidence of the development of educational technology which enhances student learning, and service to the engineering profession.
Presentation: Annually, at the Frontiers in Education Conference. The presentation will be made by a representative of the Hewlett-Packard Company.
Nomination Instructions: Nominations must include a cover letter summarizing the nominee’s qualifications with respect to the selection criteria listed above, a proposed citation of no more than 30 words and a current cv. Supporting letters may be included, but are not required. Nominations must be submitted electronically no later than 15 June to:
