ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Alan French,
Manager of Technical Relations, Liebert Power and
Cooling Business, Emerson Network Power, has been with Emerson 15 years and has
more than 20 years of experience in power and controls. Alan works with key Consulting firms
across the US on data center power architecture and design. Alan works to apply the latest in
industry-proven power system design and topology to create high-availability
systems for business-critical applications. Alan holds a masterŐs degree in electrical engineering from
Cleveland State University, a masterŐs degree in business administration from
the Olin School of Business at Washington University and eight patents.
ABOUT THE TOPIC
In
this presentation, Alan will visit some of the common misconceptions about
efficiency in the data center and break down energy consumption from the
component level and then rebuild the data center and to look at system level
efficiencies with some surprising insights. He will also make recommendations on how to measure efficiency,
prioritize changes and give examples of tools to justify investments in energy
efficient improvements.
