New Trends in Lighting

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Siva K. Haran, PE, LC, LEED AP is employed by A. Epstein and Sons International Inc. as Director of Lighting and Senior Electrical Project Engineer. Mr. Haran is registered as a Professional Engineer in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Florida and NCEES certified. He is also Lighting Certified and a LEED Accredited Professional. Mr. Haran graduated from Oklahoma State University with his Masters in Architectural Engineering with specialization in Mechanical and Electrical Systems Design. Mr. Haran is an active member of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and was the Education Chairman for Chicago section Executive Committee for the years 2001, 2002 and 2003. He has been an instructor for the Electric Association / IES continuing education courses on “Lighting Fundamentals and Advanced Courses”. He was active in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) as the Membership Chairman (2003). He was also one of the Board of Directors (2001) of Consulting Electrical Engineers Division of Electric Association, Chicago. Mr. Haran has published several articles in leading publications such as Consulting Specifying Engineers, EC&M and LD+A.

ABOUT THE TOPIC

The presentation will focus on the latest trends in lighting including lighting design methods, driving forces causing these trends, trends in the practice of lighting in the A/E industry, trends in equipment and applications and current design targets.
