Medium Voltage Cable – Construction and Termination

ABOUT THE
SPEAKER
Mr. Urban is a 1985 Graduate of St. Xavier University in Chicago with a BA in Psychology. He began selling and servicing Raychem medium voltage cable accessories and electric heat tracing systems for Maund Richards and Associates in the fall of 1985. He spent the next 17 years providing cable accessories and electric heat tracing systems to industrial end-users and electrical contractors in the greater Chicagoland area. In 2002 he became District Sales Manager for the Energy Division of Tyco Electronics, which acquired Raychem in 1999. He has also assisted in developing new cable accessories for the industrial and Utility marketplace
.
ABOUT THE TOPIC
Presentation will cover medium voltage cable theory and construction with including differences between low and medium voltage insulation requirements. The importance on insulation of stress control on medium voltage cables will be explained and two popular medium voltage terminating technologies, heat shrinkable and cold applied will be demonstrated..
