| The Chapters Department is always trying to identify and formally recognize the best chapters each year. An Awards Program conducted by the Chapters Department rates each chapter according to guidelines. Each year at the IAS Annual Meeting, five chapters are each recognized for one of the following awards:
1. Outstanding Large IAS Chapter
2. Outstanding Large Joint IAS Chapter
3. Outstanding Small IAS Chapter
4. Outstanding Small Joint IAS Chapter
5. Continued Outstanding Performance Award

| IAS Distinguished Service Award |

| The Society Distinguished Service Award is presented to a member for rendering exceptional service to the Industry Applications Society. In selecting a recipient, the committee considers contributions of the nominee to IAS through Executive Board, Technical Committee, Section or Chapter activities, which may be manifested in the following manner;
1. Exceptional administrative, managerial and leadership achievement
2. Proposal and/or or implementation of innovative new society programs, or
3. Dedication to the growth and advancement of the Society, and/or its geographic and technical entities
4. The award consists of an attractive plaque and $2000 honorarium

| IPCSD Gerald Kliman Innovater Award |

The IEEE IAS Industrial Power Conversion Systems Department Gerald Kliman Innovator Award was established to honor innovators who contributed to the technical areas of this department. The award may be presented annually to an individual for meritorious contributions to the advancement of power conversion technologies through innovations and their application to Industry. The technical field for this award includes, but is not limited to, Electrical Machines, Electrical Drives, Power Electronic Systems and Power Electronic Devices. This Award is named in honor of Dr. Gerald Kliman, in memory of his many contributions and innovations to these technical areas.

The IEEE Richard Harold Kaufmann Award was established by the IEEE Board of Directors in 1986 'for outstanding contributions in industrial systems engineering.'
It may be presented annually to an individual, or team of up to three persons, who have made exceptional contributions to electrical engineering in the industrial environment through the design or application of systems technology, as well as apparatus, devices, or materials for plant power distribution, drive systems, process control, or other utilization systems.It is presented by the Board of Directors on recommendation of the Technical Field Awards Council and the Awards Board.The Award is named in honor of Richard Harold Kaufmann in memory of his many important contributions to industrial systems engineering and his dedicated service to the IEEE Industry Applications Society.
The award consists of a bronze medal, certificate and a cash honorarium

| IAS Outstanding Achievement Award |

The Society Outstanding Achievement Award honors a member who has made an outstanding contribution in the application of electricity to industry in accordance with the scope of the Industry Application Society. The contribution may have been through invention, technical development, or through executive or managerial direction.
In selecting the recipient, the committee may apply any of the following criteria:
1. Invention in the field as exemplified by issued patents,
2. Contribution to the general engineering or scientific basis of the technologies found with in the scope of the IAS, orb
3. Executive or managerial contribution in the organization or operation of enterprises associated with the cope of the IAS
4. The award consists of a handcrafted statuette and a $3000 honorarium.

The Outstanding Young Member award is given in recognition of outstanding achievement through involvement in IEEE Industry Applications Society activities by an engineer less than 35 years of age.

| IAS Myron Zucker Student Prize Paper Awards |
| |
|
The Myron Zucker Undergraduate Student Design Awards honors three separate individual students or student teams and the students' associated electrical engineering department and is primarily for students enrolled in a Bachelor's program in Electrical Engineering or its equivalent.
