The PCIC provides an international forum for the exchange of electrical applications technology related to the petroleum and chemical industry. The PCIC annual conference is rotated across North American locations of industry strength to attract national and international participation. User, manufacturer, consultant, and contractor participation is encouraged to strengthen the conference technical base.

Wednesday Luncheon Keynote Speaker Announced
 Don Briggs, President of the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association will be giving a presentation on the State of the Oil and Gas Industry. In his presentation, he will cover topics ranging from the beginning history of the oil and gas industry, to the newest developments in technology. Mr. Briggs will be breaking down the specifics of hydraulic fracturing, why the shale plays in the United States are now reachable, and what it will take to truly move our country to energy independence. He will give an update on what legislations are before congress and the potential impact on the industry. Mr. Briggs will also discuss natural gas pricing, supply and demand, and drilling trends.
Don Briggs serves as the President of the Louisiana Oil & Gas Association (LOGA), a role he assumed in 1992 when he founded LOGA. Briggs, with over 45 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, provides oversight to LOGA’s mission of making Louisiana a state where the oil and gas industry can not only prosper but also be in harmony with the environment and state government. Before forming LOGA (formerly LIOGA), Briggs owned and operated his own service company in Lafayette, Louisiana. Don made his entrance into the oil and gas industry with Owen Drilling Company while working towards his bachelor’s degree.
Briggs is a graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana (University of Louisiana-Lafayette). He has served on several Governor appointed boards, including the Ground Water Management Advisory Task Force and the Governor’s Environmental Task Force. Briggs currently is on the Lafayette General Hospital Board of Directors, serves on the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce Energy Committee and the Louisiana Association of Business & Industry Energy Council. Don Briggs is a native of Miami, Florida, but has called Lafayette home for over 40 years. He is a proud husband, father and grandfather and is a faithful member at St. Pius X Catholic Church. He also enjoys golfing, fishing, biking and reading in his spare time.
