The Digital Signal
Processing Technical Committee (DSPTC) is a Technical Committee of
the Circuits and Systems (IEEE-CAS) Society. The DSPTC is a
subsidiary organization of the IEEE-CAS Society and it is governed
by the rules and regulations of the IEEE and by the constitution and
bylaws of IEEE-CAS, which take precedence over these bylaws in case
of conflict.
Purpose The Digital Signal Processing Technical Committee (DSPTC) goal is to promote research in digital signal processing circuits and systems and their applications in electrical engineering and in related fields. DSP Technical Sub-Tracks 1. Digital

| Reported from Dr. Yong Lian and Dr. Moncef Gabbouj Members of the DSP TC of the IEEE CAS continue to be very active in 2010-2011. The following report highlights members’ activities in various areas of interest to CAS community. The members participated actively in ISCAS 2010 as well as ISCAS 2011 as detailed in section 1. They have been involved in various capacities in a large number of conferences listed in section 2.3. Nineteen books/book chapters have been authored by members of the TC. A total of 35 plenary lectures in international conferences and workshops have been given by members of the TC as outlined in section 5. Sections 6 and7 of the report summarize the various editorial and IEEE services carried out by members of the TC. The DSP TC technically co-sponsored many conferences and workshops, the full list is provided in section 8. Additional activities carried out by members of the TC are highlighted in section 9. Finally, the report ends with news from members of the TC and prestigious distinctions obtained in 2010-2011. We are particularly proud of the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the American University of Beirut received by Prof. Karam. Congratulations to Prof. Swamy on his 75th birthday which was celebrated at the Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems 2010, to Prof. Miyanaga for his election to the BoG of CAS, and to Prof. Venetsanopoulos for receiving the Fellowship of The Royal Society of Canada in November 2010. 1 DSP TC Meeting The 2010 DSP TC Annual Meeting was held at Grand Central Station I, Disney’s Hotel New York from 12:50 PM to 14:00 PM on Wednesday June 2, 2010, during the 2010 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, Paris, France. Moncef Gabbouj was elevated to the grade of IEEE Fellow as of 1. January 2011 and was appointed Academy of Finland Professor (1.1.2011-31.12.2015).
