1) Opening of meeting.
The chairman, Prof. Derong Liu opened the meeting and welcomed all members.
2) Introduction of members.
There were 16 members present including a new member.

3) Approval of minutes.
Prof. H. K. Kwan moved to accept the minutes of 2006 NSA TC
meeting in
4) Report of accomplished technical activities (May 2006-May 2007).
Prof. Derong Liu presented the report of the activities and asked all members to submit their information within one week if they have not done so yet.
5) Award recognition and endorsement.
Candidates are solicited for the Distinguished Lecturer Program, and for BOG. The Chairman-Elect, Prof. Giacomo Indiveri, will look into the possibility of being a candidate for BOG. The TC members may identify possible papers for Transactions Best Paper Awards and send to the TC Chairman; the discussion and endorsement will be made via email.
6) Introduction of new member candidates.
A new member, Alexander Fish was added to the TC. In addition, four other non-present candidates were nominated. The secretary will first contact these candidates and the NSA TC members will vote on these candidates through email.
7) Election of new NSA TC officers.
Prof. Giacomo Indiveri.succeeded Prof. Derong Liu as Chairman of NSA TC.
Prof. Wei Xing Zheng was elected to Chair-Elect of NSA TC.
Prof. Shih-Chii Liu was elected as Secretary of NSA TC.
Prof. Pamela Abshire was nominated as candidate for the secretary-elect position and was elected unanimously.
8) NSA TC web page.
The web page will be updated by Prof. Shih-Chii Liu.
9) Special Session for ISCAS’2008
Members suggested that special sessions could be jointly sponsored with other TCs.
10) Tutorials for ISCAS’2008
It was also suggested that tutorials could be jointly sponsored with other TCs.
11) Improving NSA visibility.
Members discussed ways of improving the visibility of the NSA TC. Possible ideas included
· the possibility of offering a best paper award for ISCAS submissions to the NSA track;
· the endorsement of more special session and tutorial proposals.
12) Other business
· The TC will look into the possibility of changing the bylaws so that current members will be contacted if they have not actively participated in the TC for more than 3 years;
· Prof. Derong Liu mentioned that the Society will introduce a second major conference to start in October 2009, and this will be multi-conferences with each TC responsible for preparing its own technical programs;
· Prof. Robert Newcomb suggested looking into possibility of interacting with educational programs targeted to high school students so that the TC can provide tutorials for such programs.
13) The meeting was adjourned at
