| EXAMS FINAL EXAMS OF COURSES AND LABORATORIES At the end of each homogeneous educational activity an exam is scheduled to certify the learnt competences. Courses are grouped as follows:
Each exam may consist of a written test, an oral exam, or a project, directed to evaluate the learnt knowledge. The exam will be evaluated with respect to the degree of theoretical and practical competences that have been learnt by the student in the topics of courses and laboratories. The exam is only passed/no-passed; no grade will be given. Passing the exam will result in the accreditation of the Academic Credits for all courses or laboratories of the exam. FINAL DEFENSE The student will complete the Master's program with the preparation of a dissertation on topics within the scope of IMSCIA. This dissertation will summarize the description of the application problem envisioned, the literature review, the market survey, the analysis of the industrial sector, the research performed to identify an innovative solution, the description of the proposed original approach, the experimental results, and the analysis of costs and benefits of adopting this solution. During the preparation of the dissertation the student will be assisted by the local expert who supervised the stage (or another expert nominated as the local expert) and by one member of the Council of IMSCIA, appointed by the Director. The writing of the dissertation will be monitored by the Director of IMSCIA. The local expert supervising the dissertation preparation and the appointed member of the Council of IMSCIA will serve as supervisors of the dissertation and will formally present the student to the final defense of the dissertation. The dissertation must be submitted in written form and will be made available to the public, unless different agreed for protection of the intellectual property and industrial secret. The final defense consists of presenting and discussing the dissertation. The final defense is passed/not-passed; no grade is given. The final defense is passed if the student prepares the dissertation according to the guidelines given above, and presents and discusses appropriately the work performed and the results achieved. Passing the final defense will result
in obtaining the IMSCIA Master's Program degree. |
