Travel and Transportation

Seattle is served by all major airlines with direct flights from many US and international cities. The Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) is located about 14 miles south of downtown Seattle.

Car, taxi, train or bus can reach the Washington State Convention Center, and hotels near the Center. Since parking downtown is expensive, it is recommended that public transportation be used. A taxi from the airport to downtown will cost about $50. The SeaTac Airport Link Light Rail Station is connected to the fourth floor of the airport garage. The Link Light Rail service runs from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m. Monday through Saturday and 6 a.m. to midnight on Sundays. Trains arrive and depart every 7 1/2 to 15 minutes, depending on the time of day. Travel time from the airport to downtown Seattle is about 40 minutes. Take the train to the final stop, Westlake Station. The Convention Center is about two blocks from Westlake Station. Link Light Rail one-way fare is $2.75.

If you do choose to drive, parking is available at the Convention Center, through the entrance on Eighth and Pike Street, from 6 a.m. to midnight. Details are available at the Convention Center web site. Parking is also available at local hotels.
